Overview
Create a AT&T GSMS user.
Click the 'Users' link in 'Company Setup > Manage Users' to open the 'User Summary' screen.

General Information
First Name
|
Given name.
e.g. John

|
A username for binding to SMPP Client Mediator, if required.
Min: 6 characters Max: 8 characters

A valid email address. This also becomes the user's 'Username' and will be required in order for them to log in to AT&T GSMS.

Email address must be unique on the platform. No two users can have the same email address and/or mobile number.
If provisioned, the mobile number also needs to be unique, but may be left blank. |
A Contact record will also be created for the user automatically. |
Phone

A valid landline or mobile number.

A valid fax number.

Mobile
|
A valid mobile number.
|
Time Zone
|
Select an option from the drop-down menu which matches the user's local timezone.
e.g. (GMT+10:00) AU, EST (New South Wales/Victoria)

Currency

Select an option from the drop-down menu which matches the user's local currency.
e.g. Australia, Dollars

Driver's License
|
A valid driver's license number.
e.g. 12345678

Number Plate
|
A valid automobile number plate registration ID.

Owner
|
This field defaults to the user you are currently logged in as.
To change the owner to a different sub-customer, click the field button and type the first few characters of the sub-customer name.
Any results will appear in the drop-down list. Click the required owner to select it.

Information Updates

If check box is ticked, the user will be opted-in to receive product release notes.

Street and suburb name to be associated with the user, if required.

Indicates which number to take if MSISDN conversion from national to international format is ambiguous. If this setting is DOMESTIC, MSISDN is taken as a local number, if INTERNATIONAL other's country number is taken.

Employee Details
Employee Number
|
An optional ID number.

Title
|
Job title.

Can be used in reporting to associate employees with a particular department or function.
e.g. 'Call Center'

Cost Center ID
|
An ID code associated with the employee's allocated cost center, if applicable.

License Details
Username
|
Defaults to the address entered in the 'Email' field of General Information' section.
|
Role
|
Choose an option from the drop-down menu. The user role determines what base features will be accessible to the user.
•Standard User - Basic level role for users, personal setup options only.
•Customer Administrator - 'Company Setup' features available, including user management. Typically limited to one or a few users.
•Platform Administrator - Advanced 'Platform Setup' and configuration features, usually reserved for account/IT management.

The primary user for application customers needs to be allocated a 'Customer Administrator' role.
Upon saving, the user details page is displayed. |
Set Password
|
If check box is ticked, you can set a custom password for the user instead of generating a random one.
|
Password
|
If 'Set Password' check box is ticked, you can enter a custom password in this field and provide it to the user. They will not be required to change this upon their first login.
|
Password restrictions:
•Minimum length: 8 characters
•Maximum length: 16 characters (for SMPP API users, password must be 8 characters)
•Cannot have 3 or more single characters repeating (i.e. the password cannot contain 'aaa' or '111').
Password acceptance criteria:
Must contain a combination of at least of the following:
•1 digit (e.g. 0-9);
•1 upper-case alphabetic character (e.g. A-Z);
•1 lower-case alphabetic character (e.g. a-z);
•1 special case character (e.g. ~, @, #, $, %, ^, &) |
Note: All temporary passwords sent to users are configured, by default, to expire after 30 minutes - a new password change needs to be initiated at this time. |

If check box is ticked, user is ready to start using the AT&T GSMS features, sending messages etc.

Password Expired after 90 Days
|
If check box is ticked, password will become invalid after 90 days. The system, leaves this field checked by default.
|
Licenses
|
Assign the required licenses the user will need.
|
GSMS sends reminders to Users a few days before the password expires, to facilitate timely password updates to the syetem.
an automated email is created to be trigger 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before password is set to expire.
This requirement is linked to 90 days expiry field in GSMS that is turned on by default for all new users.

Notes:
•If Users change their email IDs within GSMS, the alerts will be automatically sent to the latest Email ID.
•If the Users un-check the Password Expired after 90 Days no password change reminder emails will be sent.
•The count for checking the 90 day password reset resets from the day the password is changed.
•If Users fail to update password after the 90 day window, after the reminders have been sent, Users when logging in are taken directly to the Change password page. Refer to the topic Change Password.
