•A2P Encryption can be turned on and off at the platform level by your support or provisioning team
A2P Encryption setup is done upon request by a platform administrator. This setup is typically completed during the provisioning of the customer account. It is an overall setting for the company and cannot be changed by the Company Administrator alone. To change the setting, the Company Administrator must contact AT&T support team.

•P2P Encryption can be turned on and off by the Customer Administrator.
P2P Encryption setup is done at the Customer Administrator level. This setting will affect all P2P messages sent by AT&T Gloabl Smart Messaging users to each other (handset-to-handset) within the node that the administrator controls. It is an overall setting for the company and cannot be set per user or per message order.
OFF When the box is unchecked all IP P2P messages are delivered without encryption. If SMS Notification is ON then any text-only P2P messages will not be masked in the SMS notifications sent to offline users.
ON If the box is checked, all IP P2P messages are delivered and stored with encryption. Message logs are also securely archived, but no actual message content is saved when encryption is ON. SMS Notifications will switch to notify only and no content will be delivered using SMS to offline users. (Please click here to learn more about SMS Notifications). |
