Overview

AT&T GSMS’s Wireless Communications Transfer Protocol (WCTP) interface provides an interface for transmission and receipt of SMS messages from an WCTP application.

 

 

Access and Security

AT&T GSMS offers flexibility in connectivity models for WCTP applications to AT&T GSMS & CGP depending on your security requirements. Current options include:

 

Direct connection over the internet, policed based on HTTP

 

Application source IP address policing

 

 

Functionality

The AT&T GSMS WCTP interface is compliant with version 1.3 update 2 of the specification. Features of AT&T GSMS’s WCTP implementation include:

 

2-way SMS messaging, including 'Receive From'

 

1900 numbers

 

Delivery reports (registered delivery)

 

Sending plain text / binary messages

 

Supports 'accepted by carrier', 'delivered to device', & replies

 

Scheduling message delivery

 

Defining validity period / expiry date

 

Note: Features not supported, phonebook and multi-messaging.
