Q: How many characters can an Alphanumeric address be? A: AT&T GSMS accepts alphanumeric addresses of 15 characters, however the network (SMSC) will reject this. The network restriction is limited to 11 characters.
Q: Can the Alphanumeric address include ASCII characters and Numbers? A: The Alphanumeric Address must be in ASCII.
Q: Can the Alphanumeric address include be Arabic of Chinese Characters? A: These are not currently supported by most Operators SMSC's. Standard Response provided is: "ErrorCode = 11", "INVALID_SOURCE_ADDRESS".
Q: Can the Alphanumeric Address contain all numbers? A: Within some networks, there must be at least 1 character for the alphabet.
Q: Is the Alphanumeric Address compatible with all handsets? A: Generally this is the case. It should be noted that some operators do not support termination of Alpha addresses and may append additional digits to it.
